Sliver

Where did you go?
You have me walking endlessly
Searching relentlessly
You have the secret I need to know

I'm too scared to ask
afraid to shatter a heart
As if looking at a broken mirror
My will morphs on each and every shard

I hear the whispered wounds
Tearing you apart
Hoping to heal your wound
I whisper my own blade

You are defined by faith
Making me question selfish beliefs
I have hoarded inside
In the place I'm too scared to leave

Twisting and changing
Your touch echos in my soul
Far beyond comprehension
Bringing rise to a fatal question

The words I can not speak
about love and life
accompanied by endless sighs
When stricken with the thought of you

To say to you now
As you struggle through it all
would be selfish betrayal
So a sliver of water hit the ground

No time for his own sadness
Can only weep for others sake
But no one can see him shining through
A smile on his face, Swearing to follow you
