The Last Wish
Running to the Cliff, he continues to push on.
Running from the world, he can't go on
Why does he run, they wonder
Why can't he go on, they wonder

Breaking through the walls,
the walls that he built up so tall
No longer the naive fool of youth
Instead the foolish adult of tomorrow
Just like everyone else

His breathing becomes shallower
his heart continues to beat slower
Every passing moment of epiphany
Slowly sunders his life

Within this drawn-out fate
There is a small pleasure to be had
a pleasure at knowing how to change life
and the pity knowing the secret dies with him

Release the mind,
Is heard within an ethereal chime
Release the flesh,
Is whispered within the silence
Release the soul,
Is commanded outside the thought
What's left is the fate man deserves
What's there is the fate man has
What's right is the life man wants
What's here is the life man needs

As the last breath finally leaves him
Leaving in a sigh of shameful release
Guilt fills him in the last moment
Guilt over not sharing the truth
Guilt over achieving balance
Guilt over finding harmony

They say ignorance is bliss cherished
Ignorance is just ignorance
Once the knowledge is known, there is bliss
Until then there is none.
